Philosophie.

Is there anyone else that this annoys? It's probably just me... but it REALLY aggrevates me.

What is it? Oh! Of course..

Yes, it's this thing people do on the internet, particularly on social networking sites. They feel obliged to tell people what 'their' philosophy is. Unfortunately, it is neither of any interest to anybody what-so-frickin-ever nor is it ever actually their philosophy.

A common statement one might come across is as follows:

'My philosophy is "Live like you'll die tomorrow, dream like you'll live forever"'.

If not those exact words, it is usually an interpretation on the above or an abridged version. The commonest usage is from Meme Grifsters (More on 'this' later) who aptly penned:

"You gotta dance like nobody's watching,
dream like you will live forever,
live like you're going to die tomorrow,
and love like it's never going to hurt."

If it isn't bad enough that this is, infact, not actually from a 'person' per se but rather from a created online persona that a person has crafted for themselves, it is also plagiarised. It isn't stolen verbatim but it is patently rooted in the words of an actual philosopher, Gandhi, who philosophised:

"Live like you will die tomorrow,
Learn like you will live forever"

So no, you internet millions. This, or any embelishments or minor alterations to this, are not your philosophies. You do not own a philosophy. You may subscribe to it, but it is certainly not yours and nor is it your fake-internet-persona person's either. Your philosphy is actually 'pander to the masses and try to sound and look cool and/or educated.' It does not cut it with me.
